A measure of "electrical pressure" between two points. The voltage specification of an incandescent lamp is the electrical "pressure" required to drive it at its designed point. The "voltage" of a ballast (e.g. 120 V) refers to the line voltage coming from the power source and is connected to the ballast.

Bulb Shape

The description of the general appearance of a lamp/bulb consists of a letter(s) followed by a number. The letter indicates the shape of the bulb and the number relates to the diameter of the bulb in eighths of an inch. For example, a common household bulb is the A-19. The bulb is "A" shape and the diameter would be nineteen 8ths of an inch, or 2 3/8".

Customer Reviews

25 watt, 120 volt R14 Reflector Bulb

Great for motion lamps. Quality is equal to more expensive commercial brands of bulbs.

Just right

I was having a lot of trouble finding a bulb the right size (intermediate base - e17) and shape (type r) for my lamp, which I bought at a large, low-price import store, but I finally got it here. Thanks to the other reviewers for helping out, too. Bulbs just arrived today, so I can't speak to the long life, but so far, so good!

Last longer than the last bulb I bought.

I use this bulb in a lamp that I bought at [@]. The price drew me to it. An added bonus is that it has lasted longer than the bulb I got at [@].

Q & A
Is this a lava lamp bulb? I can not find the bulb that I'm looking for

Hi Lauren, It looks like the bulb needed varies depending on what size/style Lava Lamp you have ( For the larger lamps, it looks like a 100W lamp is required, which we don't carry in that style. Thanks.

Will this bulb fit into my headboard bed light fixture? It is to rreplce a 25 watt abco bulb model 03468.

I would need more information to answer your question. Please contact Customer Service at 888-455-2800 with additional information include the base type of the bulb. If you are unsure, the diameter of the base in mm would be helpful.

Is this the same size as the 65watt bulb used in 6inch can lights?

No, this R14 has a 2.5" diameter. Assuming you are referring to a BR30 65 watt lamp, that has a 3.75" diameter.
