Replaced a three-way 100-150-250 bulb with this one, don't miss the three-way. This bulb provides more than sufficient light.

Comments about Philips 100 Watt Incandescent Equivalent, 22 Watt, 120 Volt Dimmable LED A-21 Lamp:

I have the same designed light in a lower wattage and I've been pleased with the color and brightness. This bulb does not appear to put out much more light and the yellow color of the light - not the bulb- is not suited to my use as a kitchen table light.

WE ARE USING THE BULB IN OUR KITCHEN HANGING FIXTURE OVER THE SINK AREA.
THE LIGHT IS BRIGHT BUT SOOTHING TO OUR EYES. IT IS USED WITH A WALL SWITCH DIMMER AND THE INTENSITY OF LIGHT DIMS WITH OUT FLICKERING.
WE ARE HAPPY WITH THE ENERGY IT WILL SAVE FOR US. WE HAVE PURCHASED OTHER LED'S FROM "BULBS" AND ARE VERY HAPPY WITH THEM ALL.

I am using these lights in my family room ceiling on a dimmer switch. Receptacle is BR20 so these are few of the bulbs that will fit. Mixed with lower wattage Philips LED and dimmer switch (Lutron) works flawlessly. No flicker. Light is very bright. However, when not lit you can see cross hatching in the bulb.

This is a great bulb. Pricey, but I calculated about a 2 year return on investment due to energy costs. And this bulb is BRIGHT ... I dare say it is almost TOO bright! It really lights up the entire room with just a single bulb, and costs only about $3 a year to power it!

We are using fluorescent bulbs in lamps where equal lumens in incandescent bulbs would generate too much heat. How does the LED compare to florescent in heat generation?

                  A:

LEDs lamps in general put off very little heat-far less than an incandescent and less than a fluorescent bulb.

                  A:

This Philips LED can be used within a recessed ceiling can, but it is recommended that the cans are properly ventilated to allow the heat that does build up (while minimal) to dissipate.
