The letter indicates the shape of the bulb and the number relates to the diameter of the bulb in eighths of an inch. For example, a common household bulb is the A-19. The bulb is "A" shape and the diameter would be nineteen 8ths of an inch, or 2 3/8".

Some common Kelvin temperature benchmarks are 2700k (warm white), 3500k (neutral white), 4100k (cool white), 5000k (bright white), and 6500k (daylight).

Comments about Litetronics 30 Watt Incadescent Equivalent, 5 Watt, Clear Cover C11 DIMMABLE/FLASHABLE Cold Cathode Bulb:

I purchased this bulb to test them in about 30 fixtures that I have on the outside of my home. My power bill has been consistent throughout the year not changing by much so I figured it had to be that. I live in Chicago se we expect a drop in electric bills here in the winter. So far this bulb is not 100% what I'm looking for. My biggest complaint is that the spiral is so obvious. Other than that this little thing is brighter than the 40w incandescent bulbs I'm trying to replace, although the light is whiter. I'm going to try a frosted piece but from a different brand.

        • Q:

Could this be used for ceiling fans? My fan requires a 30 watt bulb. And they are hard to find.

            A:

This bulb can be used in a ceiling fan. It is recommended that it not be used in an enclosed fixture. The bulb should be used in a well-ventilated fixture. If heat builds up it can affect the life and performance of the bulb.
