Volts

A measure of "electrical pressure" between two points. The voltage specification of an incandescent lamp is the electrical "pressure" required to drive it at its designed point. The "voltage" of a ballast (e.g. 120 V) refers to the line voltage coming from the power source and is connected to the ballast.

Bulb Shape

The description of the general appearance of a lamp/bulb consists of a letter(s) followed by a number. The letter indicates the shape of the bulb and the number relates to the diameter of the bulb in eighths of an inch. For example, a common household bulb is the A-19. The bulb is "A" shape and the diameter would be nineteen 8ths of an inch, or 2 3/8".

Average Rated Life (hr)
30,000

Brightness (Lumens)

A rating of the inital light output of a bulb, rated after 100 hrs of operation. Lumens are a measure of how much light falls on one square foot of area, one foot away from the light source.

Light bulbs: the coating applied to the bulb causing light to be emitted in certain colors or color temperatures (see Color Temperature). Popular finishes include clear, frosted, colors (amber, blue, green, red, etc.) as well as color temperature designations ranging from warm white (2700K) to natural daylight (6500K). Fixtures: the decorative finish of the item.

CRI

Color Rendering Index is an international system used to rate a lamp's ability to render object colors. The higher the CRI (based upon a 0-100 scale) the richer and more accurately colors generally appear. CRI differences among lamps are not usually visible to the eye unless the difference is more than 3-5 points.

CRI

Color Temperature (Kelvin)

An expression of the hue of the light emitted, measured in degrees Kelvin. Usually expressed by a four digit number followed by (k), such as 2700k. Higher temperatures indicate whiter, "cooler" colors, while lower temperatures indicate yellower, "warmer" colors. Some common Kelvin temperature benchmarks are 2700k (warm white), 3500k (neutral white), 4100k (cool white), 5000k (bright white), and 6500k (daylight).

Q & A

Bulbrite Brand 2.1 Watt NON-DIMMABLE lamp generates as much light as many 15 Watt traditional incandescent lamps.

  • Perfect to use anywhere you are using a 15 Watt decorative incandescent lamp with E12 candelabra base

  • No lead or mercury means easy and environmentally safe disposal

  • 100 Lumens initial light output is comparable to most 15 Watt incandescent lamps, while saving 13 Watts in electricity

  • VERY long life - rated to still put out 70% as much light after 30,000 hours of operation as it does when brand new

CHECK PRODUCT FIT BEFORE INVESTING IN MANY - Product May Not Fit in Your Fixture.  Also, NOT RECOMMENDED for use in enclosed fixtures because heat buildup can shorten life.  DO NOT "hot swap" this lamp.  Turn off fixture before replacing existing bulb.

Comments about Bulbrite 15W Incandescent Equivalent, NON-DIMMABLE, 2.1 Watt, 120 Volt LED Decorative Bulb - Limited Inventory Available:

I have been waiting for an energy efficient replacement bulb for my dining room chandelier. This bulb has 360 degree illumination, nice clean white light and throws off more light than I expected. I had tried a couple of CFL's but was never satisfied with either the light quality or the look in this very visible fixture. (Mind you I've been using CFL's in one form or another for 20+ years with generally few complaints.) This fixture used to have 5x40W bulbs and a 60W down pointing bulb. It has now been retrofitted with all LED's - 17.5 w vs the previous 260W!! To me this is very important, because for one reason or another, this fixture is on 6-10 hours a day (with 30,000 hours of life, I shouldn't have to replace them basically forever!). I've had lots of guests and no one has thought the light wasn't bright enough. It is a great decorative bulb that due to design works in many applications. I also tried 3 of these bulbs in my walkway post light and was very impressed with this bulb's performance. I have also tried a 3W bulb from another brand, it is OK - not as bright even though it uses more power, plus it doesn't illuminate below the way these bulbs do. The other thing i noticed is the "quality" feel, solid and substantial, with an aluminum base, compared with the CFL's. That said, I'd like it to be just a bit brighter and more importantly hopefully the price comes down some more. Overall very satisfied.

It is hard to change some of the bulbs in my house. I look forward to not changing them for at least 15 years now that I have LED bulbs. Time will tell whether they live up to their lifetime claims. I would use long life LED bulbs for every lighting need if LED bulbs yielding more light were available. I do not mind the high price if the efficiency is high and the life long.
