Comments about Bulbrite 60 Watt, 120 Volt A19 Half Silver Bulb:

Wanted these for an area where glare is an issue. All I accomplished by putting them in my recessed light was more glare. I'm thinking these would work if the recessed area is black and not white like mine. I bought enough to do the whole room but won't end up using any of them. Looking for an additional use.

Comments about Bulbrite 60 Watt, 120 Volt A19 Half Silver Bulb:

I purchased the half silver bulbs because my mother complained that the downward-facing bulbs in the fixture over our dining table hurt her eyes. These bulbs definitely took care of that problem; it's like eating by candlelight. However, my husband and I read and do crossword puzzles at this table and there is not enough light for that. So we put one regular bulb in the light fixture in the position closest to where we sit and the half-silver bulbs in the other two positions. Not a perfect solution because there's still a glare from that one bulb in Mom's eyes, and we have barely enough light for reading, but life is all about compromise.

The bulbs work better in bedside lamps. There is enough light to read by, but it doesn't over-brighten the bedroom. I definitely like the half-silver bulbs for this use.
