Comments about Bulbrite 40 Watt, 130 Volt Amber Thread Spun "Antique" Decorative Bulb:

I recently painted my house a shade of brown called "Toast" and added three clear glass globe fixtures leading to the front door. After trying clear and white bulbs of various shapes, I found the beautiful amber bulbs. They provide a soft light at the entry and totally disappear during the day, as they blend in perfectly with the house color. I have purchased plenty of replacements, as the things I love seem to disappear from the market frequently.

I bought and instated an inexpensive 3 head lantern on a pole in my driveway. Due to the low price, it came with clear lantern glass which made every type of lamp available locally look terrible. Once again, I counted on BULBS.COM to supply me with specialty lamps to rescue my lighting project. The amber, spun glass candle bulbs look great in see through fixtures, and my pole fixture doesn't look like junk anymore. I am very happy with quick shipping on hard to find bulbs.

I was looking for a yellow tone light that wasn't bold, bug light yellow, but rather a soft yellow. These are the only bulbs that fit this description anywhere I could find! They are exactly what I hoped for. The wattage is low (I have 3 bulbs in a chandelier over my stairwell), so you won't get a lot of light pop if that's what you're looking for. I also have one bulb in each of my two wall sconces (on dimmer switch) in my small living room and they are perfect there. Very attractive lighting (and the bulb itself is very pretty - too bad I don't have any fixtures to showcase just the bulb itself!).

I purchased a case of these to use in our entryway 12 light chandelier, which has frosted glass half-globe shades, and in a tiffany inspired inverted chandelier. I wanted a golden colored light to enhance the look of the glass shades, and I wanted the flame tip because the bulbs in the entryway chandelier are visible from above on the second floor, and it's nice if they're pretty.

These bulbs fit the bill in both lamps. Gorgeous golden glow, flattering light, and great shape when seen from above. They are sturdy, screw in smoothly and solve all my concerns about the lighting in those two rooms. I've only had them in for about two weeks, so I don't yet know how they'll last, but nothing has burnt out yet!
