Comments about Philips Lighting Company 60 Watt, 120 Volt Clear Blunt Tip Long Life Decorative Bulb:

I purchased these 60Watt Long Life flame bulbs for pendant lights over the kitchen island. The bulb hangs upside-down in the pendant fixture.
I selected these particular bulbs for the warm glow of a standard incandescent as compared to whiter Krypton or Halogen or Fluorescent. I typically prefer the warmer light in living areas. In addition these bulbs are rated for longer life than standard incandescent bulbs and I like to save time wherever I can, like avoiding replacement of light bulbs.
I purchased two 2-packs of the 60Watt Flame bulbs and three out of four bulbs were burnt out within a matter of weeks. No idea how or why these burnt out so quickly but I will not be getting those bulbs again for the pendant fixture. Right now I switched to 40Watt Krypton with no issues, it has been about a month or two, and I will probably try a standard incandescent next time I have a chance to get those. Maybe these are better in a table lamp or maybe I received a bad couple of packages of bulbs but I would not recommend this particular bulb in a pendant fixture.
