Bulb Shape

The description of the general appearance of a lamp/bulb consists of a letter(s) followed by a number. The letter indicates the shape of the bulb and the number relates to the diameter of the bulb in eighths of an inch. For example, a common household bulb is the A-19. The bulb is "A" shape and the diameter would be nineteen 8ths of an inch, or 2 3/8".

CRI differences among lamps are not usually visible to the eye unless the difference is more than 3-5 points.

Some common Kelvin temperature benchmarks are 2700k (warm white), 3500k (neutral white), 4100k (cool white), 5000k (bright white), and 6500k (daylight).

Comments about Bulbrite 65 Watt, 130 Volt BR30 Frosted Reflector Flood:

In our new home, we have recessed lighting almost exclusively in the house. Inside, outside, front door, patio....everywhere. In our great room, there are probably fifteen recessed lights alone. When I needed to replace a bulb, I thought "...I'm going to have to replace them all or it will look like heck...". To my pleasant surprise, this is the bulb our builder used, so I bought a couple cases of these and put them away. It's practical at the shipped cost of about $2.90 each. These have a nice color spectrum, and seem to hold up pretty well. They get turned on and off several times a day, and in 14 months I've replaced two of them (out of the many, many that are in our home). I'm pleased with these and they seem to represent a very good value.

Terrific customer service. I had one bulb (out of 24) broken during shipping. They sent a replacement bulb that arrived two days later and were extremely nice about it.

Our electrician told us that our electrical service coming in from the street was running high. All our bulbs were burning out until we switched to these bulbs. Color is nice and warm for a kitchen.

                    A:

It is difficult to fully answer your questions. What type of 'new' bulbs are you referring to? LED? CFL? These types of bulbs are energy efficient and will use 75% less watts or energy. However, their brightness or lumens are similar or better in most cases. Some are dimmable and some are not. Please contact one of our certified Lighting Specialists at 888-455-2800 for further assistance in finding the right replacement bulb for your application.

                    A:

Yes, the vast majority of both halogen and incandescent light sources that are used for general lighting applications can be used on dimmers.
