Description

The Stairwell fixture is a great choice when looking for a bi-level luminaire which provides energy savings, high efficiency, 95% lumen maintenance, improved color rendering, extended life, instant on and improved uniformity. Suggested mounting heights up to 16' with primary applications including stairwells, restrooms, laundry rooms and other areas where maximum light levels are not needed on a constant basis. Includes a perforated metal diffuser.

The Stairwell T8 was designed for energy savings using efficient T8 ballasts and lamps in conjunction with an ultrasonic sensor.  The attractive two lamp design uses an ultrasonic occupancy sensor to turn off the main T8 lamps while there are no occupants in the area, maintaining operation of one T8 lamp during standby mode for safety and compliance purposes.

Constructed of heavy duty 20 gauge steel which is post painted with a baked white enamel finish that is electrostatically applied.  Ample knockouts are provided for wiring and mounting. The white perforated steel diffuser uses one piece of UV stabilized acrylic to provide an even light distribution pattern. Sockets include secure positioning rotating collars.

Thesensor is a low voltage ultrasonic sensor with adjustable sensitivity and time delays of 5, 10, 15, or 30 minutes. A built in LED lights up when occupancy is detected. The sensor has functions for testing, overriding "on", and an integrated 72 hour burn-in feature to ensure long lamp life and proper operation.

Ballast Type
Magnetic ballasts are a legacy technology and use inductance to transform the line voltage to the voltage required to "fire" or excite the gasses in a lamp. Electronic ballasts use a variety of starting methods, and are more efficient than magnetic ballasts in converting input power to the proper lamp power and operate fluorescent lamps at higher frequencies, resulting in an overall lamp-ballast system – increasing efficacy 15% to 20% over a magnetic equivalent.
