Energy Used

A rating, expressed in watts, to indicate the rate at which a lamp consumes energy. Also known as wattage value.
Energy Used
120 Watts

A measure of "electrical pressure" between two points. The voltage specification of an incandescent lamp is the electrical "pressure" required to drive it at its designed point. The "voltage" of a ballast (e.g. 120 V) refers to the line voltage coming from the power source and is connected to the ballast.

The end (or ends) of the lamp that fits into the socket.

Bulb Shape

The description of the general appearance of a lamp/bulb consists of a letter(s) followed by a number. The letter indicates the shape of the bulb and the number relates to the diameter of the bulb in eighths of an inch. For example, a common household bulb is the A-19. The bulb is "A" shape and the diameter would be nineteen 8ths of an inch, or 2 3/8".

Warm White

Color Temperature (Kelvin)

An expression of the hue of the light emitted, measured in degrees Kelvin. Usually expressed by a four digit number followed by (k), such as 2700k. Higher temperatures indicate whiter, "cooler" colors, while lower temperatures indicate yellower, "warmer" colors. Some common Kelvin temperature benchmarks are 2700k (warm white), 3500k (neutral white), 4100k (cool white), 5000k (bright white), and 6500k (daylight).
Color Temperature (Kelvin)

Brightness (Lumens)

A rating of the initial light output of a bulb, rated after 100 hrs of operation. Lumens are a measure of how much light falls on one square foot of area, one foot away from the light source.
Brightness (Lumens)

Average Rated Life (hr)

Length (in)

Also referred to as "Maximum Overall Length" (MOL). For light bulbs, it measures the length of a light bulb, from the top of the bulb to the bottom of the base or pins and is typically expressed in inches. For light fixtures and ballasts, it applies to the total horizontal length of the item.

Great Sevice and Quality

I have five recessed lights in my kitchen and they are on a dimmer. The 120 watt incondescent floods work great. When I want it bright I crank them up, and when I want it soft, I turn them down. I can't find the 120's in my area either. I don't appreciate the fact that the government is dictating what kind of light bulbs I use. I'm not going with the LED's either. Incondescent lights add more warmth to the Home. LED's cost more and are much more efficient power-wise, but they just throw out a 'cold' feeling into the room. In my opinion, the LED's are too commercial for the Home so i will use these as long as I can.

Great Light!

Bought 8 bulbs, only 7 worked. It is so nice to have light when you turn the switch on. Will buy again.

These are far superior to the new bulbs!

I do not like the new "curly-fry", mercury bulbs. They take too long to light up. They never are bright enough. However that's all they have in the stores. This is the only way I can get the bulbs I want.

Bright but noisy

We have eight of these in our bedroom ceiling. They produce a wonderful amount of light, and the color seems fine. The only problem is that they are somewhat noisy, particularly in the few minutes after they are turned off. I assume it is the filaments cooling off and contracting, but it's not so bad that I've had to replace the bulbs.

Excellent Performance

Have been using these lamps since regular incandescent floods in this size became unavailable and they have been outstanding both in terms of light output and length of service.

Yes Rocks!

Our reception area was a bit drab and dingy with the original flood lights or was "cold" and harsh whenever we'd turn on the florescent lights. For our clients, my team and myself, I wanted an nice, but bright, ambience in the recetion area. So, I talked to someone at and he recommended a different kind of flood light bulb than what we are using. They had them in stock and pricing was very fair so I ordered ten. We replaced the existing floods and the place looks so much better now. They new bulbs produce a bright, cool light with 20% less energy. I'm very happy with - these folks know what they're doing!

Very short life span.

I used these bulbs for overhead lighting in kitchen. This type/style was supposed to replace a 150watt bulb. I replaced 2 can lights with two of these bulbs. Both felled within a few days. Don't know what to use now since my original bulbs are not available anymore.

A Great Way to Purchae Lightbulbs

The 120W and 120V Halogen Reflector Bulbs I purchased from were not available at any local store. For that reason, I went searching for them or comparable bulbs on the Internet and was very pleased to find them (along with several thousand other light bulbs!) for sale on your website. I ordered these bulbs and received them in less than a week and with free shipping (available for orders over $25.00). Currently, the bulbs are being used in the kitchen and both bathrooms of my home; they are great additions to all three rooms.. Throughout this transaction, I was most impressed with the highly professional, very personalized service received from your company. When I again need additional lightbulbs, I will certainly order them from CG

The product is as advertised.

This product performs as expected. However, being halogen, it is extremely bright. I used this in place of standard 120W floods which I cannot find.

I would definitely buy this product agai

Bulbs [...] were exactly what i needed. You can no longer find these in any hardware stores. Makes your room look kinda odd if seven out of the eight bulbs in the kitchen are 120 Watts and the only thing you can buy at the store are 90 Watt bulbs. I ordered enough from that should last me for a few years.

Yes, the vast majority of both halogen and incandescent light sources that are used for general lighting applications can be used on dimmers.

Product Support

Yes, it is a standard incandecent bulb. I have them in use in three different areas of my home and all have dimmers. Just be sure your dimmer can handle the total wattage. Otherwise the dimmer switch will get warm and eventually not dim very well.

What is the average life of this bulb?

The Average Rated Life (ARL) for this particular bulb is 2,500 hours.
