Energy Used
45 Watts

A measure of "electrical pressure" between two points. The voltage specification of an incandescent lamp is the electrical "pressure" required to drive it at its designed point. The "voltage" of a ballast (e.g. 120 V) refers to the line voltage coming from the power source and is connected to the ballast.

The end (or ends) of the lamp that fits into the socket.

Bulb Shape

The description of the general appearance of a lamp/bulb consists of a letter(s) followed by a number. The letter indicates the shape of the bulb and the number relates to the diameter of the bulb in eighths of an inch. For example, a common household bulb is the A-19. The bulb is "A" shape and the diameter would be nineteen 8ths of an inch, or 2 3/8".

An expression of the hue of the light emitted, measured in degrees Kelvin. Usually expressed by a four digit number followed by (k), such as 2700k. Higher temperatures indicate whiter, "cooler" colors, while lower temperatures indicate yellower, "warmer" colors. Some common Kelvin temperature benchmarks are 2700k (warm white), 3500k (neutral white), 4100k (cool white), 5000k (bright white), and 6500k (daylight).

Also referred to as "Maximum Overall Length" (MOL). For light bulbs, it measures the length of a light bulb, from the top of the bulb to the bottom of the base or pins and is typically expressed in inches. For light fixtures and ballasts, it applies to the total horizontal length of the item.

Customer Reviews

Id buy it again, but is there an LED substitution?

The bathroom fixtures are the last incandescents in my place. This bulb is fine. delivery excellent. but, Id use an LED substitution next if available.

Q & A
I'm using for dimmable recessed lighting cans & have used these in the past but wonder if there is another bulb that is LED or other that I should consider for better life and energy cost? I have about 22 cans I need to fill.

The incandescent bulbs you are using only have about a 2000 hour rated life and use 45w of energy. The LED replacement options have a rated life of about 25,000 hours and only uses around 6.5 to 8 watts. Below is a link to those options.

Can this bulb be used with a three way switch?

No, this is not a 3-way bulb. Here are some available options:

Can this bulb be used outdoors?

Yes, this is an incandescent bulb and can be used outdoors.

Can this be used in a can for dimable lighting?

This is an incandescent reflector and can be used with a dimmer.

Can this bulb be used for ceiling recess lighting? If not the right product after ordering, can I return them? Will the light be similar to the traditional light bulb?

This bulb can be used anywhere an R20 reflector is used. It can be used in recessed lighting but may be too small for some recessed fixtures. This is an incandescent bulb and the light emitted will be similar to a traditional light bulb. If not satisfied with the product, it may be returned within 14 days of receipt of product.
