Energy Used

A rating, expressed in watts, to indicate the rate at which a lamp consumes energy. Also known as wattage value.
Energy Used
19 Watts

Incandescent/Halogen Equivalent

The wattage value of an incandescent or halogen lamp of similar brightness.
Incandescent/Halogen Equivalent
100 Watts

A measure of "electrical pressure" between two points. The voltage specification of an incandescent lamp is the electrical "pressure" required to drive it at its designed point. The "voltage" of a ballast (e.g. 120 V) refers to the line voltage coming from the power source and is connected to the ballast.

The end (or ends) of the lamp that fits into the socket.
Medium (E26)

Bulb Shape

The description of the general appearance of a lamp/bulb consists of a letter(s) followed by a number. The letter indicates the shape of the bulb and the number relates to the diameter of the bulb in eighths of an inch. For example, a common household bulb is the A-19. The bulb is "A" shape and the diameter would be nineteen 8ths of an inch, or 2 3/8".

Bulb Color

The color of the light produced by a bulb

Warm White

Color Rendering Index is an international system used to rate a lamp's ability to render object colors. The higher the CRI (based upon a 0-100 scale) the richer and more accurately colors generally appear. CRI differences among lamps are not usually visible to the eye unless the difference is more than 3-5 points.

Color Temperature (Kelvin)

An expression of the hue of the light emitted, measured in degrees Kelvin. Usually expressed by a four digit number followed by (k), such as 2700k. Higher temperatures indicate whiter, "cooler" colors, while lower temperatures indicate yellower, "warmer" colors. Some common Kelvin temperature benchmarks are 2700k (warm white), 3500k (neutral white), 4100k (cool white), 5000k (bright white), and 6500k (daylight).
Color Temperature (Kelvin)

Brightness (Lumens)

A rating of the initial light output of a bulb, rated after 100 hrs of operation. Lumens are a measure of how much light falls on one square foot of area, one foot away from the light source.
Brightness (Lumens)

Bulb Finish

The surface finish of a bulb, which may affect the quality of the light emitted.

Bulb Technology

The technology implemented by the bulb, e.g. incandescent, halogen, LED

Average Rated Life (hr)

A measurement of the average length of time, between first use and the point when 50% of the lamps tested have stopped functioning, , using an operating cycle of 3 hours on, 20 minutes off.
Average Rated Life (hr)

Length (in)

Also referred to as "Maximum Overall Length" (MOL). For light bulbs, it measures the length of a light bulb, from the top of the bulb to the bottom of the base or pins and is typically expressed in inches. For light fixtures and ballasts, it applies to the total horizontal length of the item.
Length (in)

Diameter (in)

Light bulbs: a measurement of a bulb's width taken at the widest point of the bulb. Fixtures: the measurement across the widest point of a circular fixture.

Great color and good output!

I have just installed 7 of these in my restaurant and I love them already! The output is nice and warm, much warmer than the LEDs I was replacing them with even though the old ones were meant to be 'warm'! The output is great and, more importantly for my application, they dim very well. I am going to order some more right away for the rest of my restaurant!

Great Product

Used for Garage lighting. Great product, can be left on (we have kids) and not worry about the cost. Had CFL lights before; when the cold hits they would dim, not a problem here.

Good but not suitable for downlights

Purchased the 22 watt version and put them in all the kitchen downlights. Fantastic quality of light and reduced energy consumption. Went to buy more for a second home and the 22 watt was no longer available. So, purchased the 19 watt and put them in all the kitchen downlights for our second home. In a few hours half of them were out. Turned off the lights for a few minutes and they all came back on again but half were out again after a few hours. Called who were very helpful. They think these bulbs have a thermal shutoff that makes them go out due to heat build up when used in downlight cans. That's a shame as I've not found any other LED bulbs that work well in downlights. btw - the original 22 watt LED's still work just fine. Wish I could find more.

Great but expensive for whole house

One lamp replaces three light sources in small home office.

Getting it right on light

Very good to read with. Doesn't have the moon-blue cast to the light; excellent color temperature. Oddly pairs well with similar lumen output CF to produce comfortable light on the work surface.. Phillips is obviously working hard but the price must be subsidized or discounted to develop demand. I can not work with 60-75 watt replacement lamps. I have used the 1600 lumen CF lamps and find the perform well enough at the desk environment in a task fixture.

Amazing Device

This device is amazing. I just received it and tried it out. It is brighter than the 100W incandescent bulb it replaced plus it doesn't need the warm up time CFLs do to come to full brightness. This is great technology and so far this is one of the few places I've found that you can get this type of bulb. LED bulbs less than a 100w equivalence are common but this 100W LED equivalent bulb is a gem....and it only uses 19W and is rated at 25,000 hours.

Q & A
Is this bulb rated for use in recessed cans in a kitchen ceiling. Thank you

Yes, this LED can be used in recessed cans providing there is no lens on the front of the can. Additionally, if they are on a dimmer, it is important to check for dimmer compatibility. Please contact Customer Service at 888-455-2800 for compatible options.

Some LED bulbs works over a wide range of voltage, say 80 - 230 Volts. Does this product work only at 120 Volts, or can this work on 220 Volts? Thank you.

No, this is a 120 volt LED.
