Comments about Ushio 32 Watt, 48" T8 Bright White Fluorescent Bulb:

I bought 200 of these for our production area. The first thing I noticed is that they were packaged individually. I thought that was cool until I found that the packing was bad on a lot of the bulbs and the label was stuck to them. I had to cut off each individual box. This really slowed me down. I ended up returning 150 bulbs. These bulbs are also VERY slow to reach full brightness even with an instant start ballast. They have a very distinct purple (dark) area in the middle that SLOWLY fades to fully lit after about 10 minutes. I had GE bulbs reach full brightness in seconds in the same fixture. Sam at was helpful in getting my bulbs replaced and I will continue to purchase from them, just not Ushio bulbs. I guess I should have none better than try but since they were made in Germany I thought I was safe. Stick to Phillips or GE.
