  • Q:

how many watts will the skylark sf-10p handle?
Asked on 7/17/2012 by Curious John

Fluorescent dimmers are different than most when it comes to wattage ratings. They depend on whether a dimming magnetic or electronic ballast is used and they must also be derated if ganged. This dimmer is 8 Amps, 120 Volts... Ohm's law states "A (Amperage) x V (Voltage) = W (Watts)" 8 X 120 = 960. This product must be installed by a licensed electrician. An electrician will be able to provide the maximum wattage for this dimmer based upon the type of fixtures and ballast that is being used.
