A measure of "electrical pressure" between two points. The voltage specification of an incandescent lamp is the electrical "pressure" required to drive it at its designed point. The "voltage" of a ballast (e.g. 120 V) refers to the line voltage coming from the power source and is connected to the ballast.

The description of the general appearance of a lamp/bulb consists of a letter(s) followed by a number. The letter indicates the shape of the bulb and the number relates to the diameter of the bulb in eighths of an inch. For example, a common household bulb is the A-19. The bulb is "A" shape and the diameter would be nineteen 8ths of an inch, or 2 3/8".

      • Q:

Can this bulb be used as a replacement for a burnt-out 10 Watt Halogen bulb in our self-cleaning oven? The oven instructions say to use one that will withstand the high temperatures that occur during the self-cleaning cycle.

          A:

The answer is most likely yes. However, you will need to confirm the pin base. Halogen pin bases can vary from distance apart and length. They are measured in mm, from center-pin to center-pin. Please contact Customer Service at 888-455-2800 if you need more assistance.

      • Q:

        Hi,
Is there an LED replacement for such bulb with same power or better?
        Asked on 11/27/2011 by Anonymous

        • CUSTOMER CARE

          A:

There are LED's available in the G4 base and 12-volts. The ones we offer are 1-watt or less. They will not have the same amount of light output as the 10-watt halogen. If a brighter light output is needed, a higher Kelvin rating (color temperature) would work. The higher color temperature would have a brighter, whiter appearance than a warm white bulb. The LED, G4 base bulbs can be found using the following link. http://www.bulbs.com/LED_Undercabinet/results.aspx

      • Q:

would this be the same pin spacing as a G4/T3 lamp?
        Asked on 10/10/2011 by Anonymous

        1 answer

        • CUSTOMER CARE

          A:

This bulb does have a G4 base and will match the base/pin spacing of the current bulb.
