Comments about Philips 95 Watt, 96 Inch T12 High Output Cool White Fluorescent Bulb:

I had a hard time finding this bulb style locally w/ the double contact base for commercial lights - they don't carry them at home improvement stores - found this eco-friendly version quickly at bulbs.com. They work great - excellent replacement for workshop lights.

My F96T12/CW/HO 110watts is 93inches. It is over 30years old. Will this bulb work.

          A:

The 96" length is a nominal length that includes the base on each end. The bulb should fit in the fixture. Since the bulb that is currently being used is over 30 years, we do recommend changing the ballast or at least checking the ballast to make sure it will work with the lower wattage bulb.
