Description

Eiko brand MR16 halogen flood. 50 Watts for more power and light. 12 volts for low voltage systems. Low voltage means a smaller filament, for greater optical control.

  • Halogen lights provide brighter, whiter light than incandescents, while maintaining outstanding color rendering

  • Flood means 38º beam spread and a wider beam of light. Lamp can be closer and still light the area effectively

  • Dichroic reflector reflects visible light out the front while letting heat escape out the back, resulting in a cool beam of light

NO LENS - enclosed fixture recommended

Volts

A measure of "electrical pressure" between two points. The voltage specification of an incandescent lamp is the electrical "pressure" required to drive it at its designed point. The "voltage" of a ballast (e.g. 120 V) refers to the line voltage coming from the power source and is connected to the ballast.

Bulb Shape

The description of the general appearance of a lamp/bulb consists of a letter(s) followed by a number. The letter indicates the shape of the bulb and the number relates to the diameter of the bulb in eighths of an inch. For example, a common household bulb is the A-19. The bulb is "A" shape and the diameter would be nineteen 8ths of an inch, or 2 3/8".

CRI

Color Rendering Index is an international system used to rate a lamp's ability to render object colors. The higher the CRI (based upon a 0-100 scale) the richer and more accurately colors generally appear. CRI differences among lamps are not usually visible to the eye unless the difference is more than 3-5 points.

Color Temperature (Kelvin)

An expression of the hue of the light emitted, measured in degrees Kelvin. Usually expressed by a four digit number followed by (k), such as 2700k. Higher temperatures indicate whiter, "cooler" colors, while lower temperatures indicate yellower, "warmer" colors. Some common Kelvin temperature benchmarks are 2700k (warm white), 3500k (neutral white), 4100k (cool white), 5000k (bright white), and 6500k (daylight).

Candle Power

A measure of how much light the bulb produces, measured at the bulb, based on the amount originally emitted by a single candle.

Bulb Finish

The surface finish of a bulb, which may affect the quality of the light emitted.

Average Rated Life (hr)

A measurement of the average length of time, between first use and the point when 50% of the lamps tested have stopped functioning, , using an operating cycle of 3 hours on, 20 minutes off.

Average Rated Life (hr)
4000

Beam Angle (°)

The width of a light beam, expressed in degrees. The beam angle is often part of the ordering code for reflector lamps. For example, a 50PAR30/HIR/NFL25 is a 50-watt PAR30 narrow flood lamp with a beam angle of 25 degrees.

Beam Angle (°)

This little bulb brightens my day!

This light works great for general lighting when grouped together above a conference table. But it also works well for a desk lamp as well.

Great Product

5

This bulb does a great job lighting our really dark kitchen area. The bulbs have a long life and are of quality construction. The only downfall is that the bulbs get extremely hot (as do all bulbs of this type). Overall, a great product at a reasonable price.

Do these light have a cover on the top?

JayMan

No, this MR16 does not have a lens.

how do you replace bulb......seems like one unit.

ralph broccoli

This is an MR16, it is one unit. When it needs to be replaced, you would replace the whole unit.

What is the difference between this bulb and Sylvania EXN 50MR16Q/40/FL Is it just 38 degrees instead of 40 degrees flood or something else as well

Patti

The most obvious difference between the two bulbs is the beam spread. This bulb is 38° and the Sylvania is 40°. There are some other differences but they are very slight and will not affect the performance of the bulb.
