The standard 75w bulbs that came with my new light fixtures were way too bright. These 40w ones were much better.

Comments about Greenlite Corp. 40 Watt Incandescent Equivalent, 9 Watt, Warm White GU24 Spiral Compact Fluorescent Lamp:

          Hi,

We built a new building last year (2009) to house our Community Health and Human Services Departments. This building was designed with "Green Technology" for energy efficiency and these GU24 lamps are through out the building. Being local government we did try to source these lamps locally. We did fine that local hardware stores are not able to find these for resale. How is this "GREEN" if you have to have them shipped in special?

One lamp was found cracked and was immediately refunded, Thank You Bulbs.com!

Very much interested in this bulb. is it 1 7/16" in diameter? I've tried standard RU24 bulbs from big box stores but they are too wide to go into the fixture.

              A:

The GU24 base should be standard, including the size of the integrated ballast, however, it is possible that the it may vary. Can you provide any infromation about the fixture you're trying to use it in? Please contact Customer Service at 888-455-2800 for further assistance.

          • Q:

We purchased a fixture that came with 6- 2 pin 13W spiral bulbs but they are 1000 lumens which are way too bright for our space. Since these bulbs are 13W but 500 lumens, will they be less bright?

            • Bulbs.com LS1 Certified Lighting Specialist

              A:

Technically, yes. The 500 lumen bulbs will be half as bright. However, also look at the color temperature of the bulb you are replacing. They can range from very warm to bright white. Additionally, you've referred to a 2-pin CFL. Is it a plug-in bulb or does it twist and lock (GU24 base) into place like the bulb you've selected here? Please contact Customer Service for more assistance 888-455-2800.

Can this bulb be used outside? If not do have one like it that can be? Thanks.

              A:

This Greenlite CFL can be used outdoors providing it is not directly exposed to the elements, but not completely enclosed as it may decrease the life of the lamp.
