Color Rendering Index is an international system used to rate a lamp's ability to render object colors. The higher the CRI (based upon a 0-100 scale) the richer and more accurately colors generally appear. CRI differences among lamps are not usually visible to the eye unless the difference is more than 3-5 points.

An expression of the hue of the light emitted, measured in degrees Kelvin. Usually expressed by a four digit number followed by (k), such as 2700k. Great, but really just for a decorative

For some reason I thought that because this bulb is advertised as "flashable" it would not have a warm up period. The warmup actually seems longer than a standard CFL.

This bulb does not produce the same amount of light as a 40 watt incandescent. A 40 watt incandescent produces 450 lumens. This bulb isn't even advertised to have a brightness close to that.

That said, this bulb does dim nicely. I would recommend using this bulb as a decorative light instead of a replacement for a standard 40 watt bulb. If you have decorative lights on a standard base and a dimmer these would be an excellent replacement. I just wish this wasn't falsely advertised.

    Hello, I would like to know if this can be used in enclosed fixtures with no air circulation. Thanks.

      This product should not be used in totally enclosed fixtures. The fixture needs proper ventilation to allow heat to escape. Otherwise, the heat will affect the life and performance of the bulb.
