Love the large size bulb

5

Most stores are selling a smaller width bulb. I prefer a bulb that fills the opening width.

I have used Bulbs.com for just about all of my light bulb purchases. The price is good, especially if purchasing in a larger quantity and the shipping is fast. Never had a problem with shipping and never had a broken bulb.

Beautiful Lighting

I love this lightbulb. It is nice and bright yet it gives a soft overall lighting and has no glare. Since i have 9 recessed lights in my kitchen and I love to cook, it makes it easy to spend long hours if I have big dinners to prepare. I love this lightbulb!

Burns Out Too Fast

1

I was constantly changing these bulbs. So much so, that I thought something was wrong. So, I finally cranked out the numbers. Phillips says that these should last 2.3 years based on usage of 3 hours per day. I probably had the 6 in my kitchen on an average of 6 hours per day. So my case of 24 of them would have lasted me 4.5 years, according to Phillips. Well, I went through a case of 24 of them in 2 years. You do the math. That means I was changing each bulb on average every 6 months, and that these bulbs only achieved 40% of the life cycle that Phillips claims. Sorry. On the reorder I'll try a different manufacturer.

Easy to Order. I especially like the fact that your previous orders are available on line so that you can easily re-order whatever bulb(s) you need by just clicking a button. Packaging is good. I've never had a shipment arrive with any broken bulbs.

The Only Bulb I will Buy

5

My entire first floor - kitchen and den are recessed lights - approximately 16 fixtures in total. I have tried to use cheaper cost brands and nothing compares to the Philips flood bulbs both in quality and durability.

how does this compare to ge reveal bulb? i use these in kitchen for food prep and the ge reveals are great but expensive. is the soft white like the ge light?

poppadads48

While some of the specifications of this bulb are similar like wattage, bulb shape, and average rated life, the GE Reveal has a neodymium finish that filters out yellows and other dull hues. That finish provides you with a "crisp" bluish light instead of a warm incandescent glow. If you still have questions, please contact one of our certified Lighting Specialists at 888-455-2800 and they'll help you find the right light for your application.

Is this a Philips "Duramax" long-life indoor flood? I'm thinking it is since it has a life rating of 2500 hours...

This product is part of the Philips Duramax Long Life family.

is this a standard high-hat bulb?

Peter

This bulb will fit in most recessed fixtures. Fixture dimensions may vary. We do recommend checking the dimensions of the fixture or the bulb currently being used to see if the dimensions match this particular bulb.
