Comments about Philips Lighting Company 25 Watt, 120 Volt A19 Soft White Long Life Bulb:

I have a reptile collection containing around 250 animals, mostly venomous snakes. We also raise rock iguans and tortoises. Since snakes do not need a full spectrum bulb, we use the A19 base 25 watt bulb because if we used the cheaper 40 w bulb, the serpentarium would reach 135 degrees F. The Phillips 25 w bulbs are lighted 12 hours/day 7 days perweek. They are relatively good bulbs with long life. However, 15 to 20% of the bulbs are bad right out of the box.
