A measure of "electrical pressure" between two points. The voltage specification of an incandescent lamp is the electrical "pressure" required to drive it at its designed point. The "voltage" of a ballast (e.g. 120 V) refers to the line voltage coming from the power source and is connected to the ballast.

The description of the general appearance of a lamp/bulb consists of a letter(s) followed by a number. The letter indicates the shape of the bulb and the number relates to the diameter of the bulb in eighths of an inch. For example, a common household bulb is the A-19. The bulb is "A" shape and the diameter would be nineteen 8ths of an inch, or 2 3/8".

Q & A

NaturaLED Brand LED DIMMABLE 14 Watt lamp generates as much light as many 65 Watt BR30 incandescent lamps. Can smoothly dim down to 10% power.

  • Perfect to use anywhere you are using a 65 Watt BR30 incandescent lamp

  • No lead or mercury means easy and environmentally safe disposal

  • 740 Lumens initial light output is comparable to most 65 Watt incandescent lamps, while saving 52 Watts in electricity

  • VERY long life - rated to still put out 70% as much light after 40,000 hours of operation as it does when brand new

  • Compatible with the following Lutron dimmers: Skylark S-600, S-600P, S-603P, Diva DV-600P, DV-603P, Toggler TG-600, TG-600P, TG-603, Rotary D-600R, D-600P, D-603P, Diva DVLV-600P, DVLV-603P, Skylark SLV-600P, SLV-603P, Diva DVELV-300P, DVELV-303P, Maestro MAELV-600, MSCELV-600.

CHECK PRODUCT FIT BEFORE INVESTING IN MANY - Product May Not Fit in Your Fixture.  Also, NOT RECOMMENDED for use in enclosed fixtures because heat buildup can shorten life.  DO NOT "hot swap" this lamp.  Turn off fixture before replacing existing bulb.

I just used these to replace 65W/130V Incandescent bulbs in a 4-way, six light Hall lighting arrangement. I purchased a Lutron dimmer (CTCL-153PDH) designed for both Incandescent AND LED lights. The new dimmer worked perfectly with the incandescents, but when the LED were installed I got the same effect that Stan (above) did: Flashing/erratic dimming. Even after adjusting the dim limit, the lights would only work at maximum or minimum level, anything between produced flashing.

I called Lutron Tech Support; they have no report of Lutron testing with THESE bulbs. However, when I listed the Lutron Products provided in the 2nd comment above, they said ALL the 600/603 series dimmers listed are for Incandescent use only!

Armed with this new info, I reinstalled the original (Incandescent ONLY) dimmer and voila! All worked perfectly!

Bottom line appears to be that the NaturaLED product is designed to work with Incandescent Dimmers (a good thing) but no one bothers to mention this and the terse respondent above listing the compatible dimmers does not bother to mention this fact either.

I purchased LHO-14BR30/DIM/27K Bulbs (based on sale price) and during the Ramp Cycle (approx 6 sec) the Bulbs Flash Bright and Dim. If you are in the Kitchen when the Bulbs are turned on or off, the flashing will get your attention (is their something wrong). When the Bulbs are at steady State, they are fine.
If I would have known about the Flashing, I would have bought the LED11E26 Bulbs.

So far I am very pleased with these light bulbs. Since I just started to us them I can't testify as to their long life time. The light emitted from these blubs is white with a hint of yellow like looking at the sun. This light is is more pleasing the the CFL bulbs they replaced. The cost of these bulbs was surprizingly low and if these work out I am going to replace a large number of CFL (which make a low humming sound) with them.

I have 4 can type ceiling lights in the kitchen. I put these in and was very pleased at all of the light that they provided. I replaced CF bulbs that took a while to achieve full strength which was a very big con. Bottom line is that I am going to buy more and use them everywhere that I can!

It's certainly bright! And the color temp is perfect. I'm using them in a recessed lighting in a den, and I have a dimmer on it. It takes a second to come on, and that, you'll have to get used to. Once on, it's great. I have to dim them, and they dim down perfectly. Very happy with these.

Yes, this would be suitable to replace up to a 65 watt BR30 or PAR30 halogen. It is important that the can is not enclosed and there is proper ventilation for the LED bulb.
