Q & A

MaxLite Brand 4 Watt dimmable lamp generates as much light as many 25 Watt traditional incandescent lamps.

  • Perfect to use anywhere you are using a 25 Watt decorative bent tip incandescent lamp with E12 medium base

  • No lead or mercury means easy and environmentally safe disposal

  • 240 Lumens initial light output is comparable to many 25 Watt incandescent lamps, while saving 21 Watts in electricity

  • VERY long life - rated to still put out 70% as much light after 20,000 hours of operation as it does when brand new

  • Compatible with the following Lutron dimmers:  S-600, LGCL-153PL, LG-600P, CTCL-153PD and SELVB-300P

CHECK PRODUCT FIT BEFORE INVESTING IN MANY - Product May Not Fit in Your Fixture.  Also, NOT RECOMMENDED for use in enclosed fixtures because heat buildup can shorten life.  DO NOT "hot swap" this lamp.  Turn off fixture before replacing existing bulb.

Comments about MaxLite 25W Incandescent Equivalent, 20000 Hour, 4 Watt, 120 Volt Warm White DIMMABLE LED Decorative Bulb:

Quite different from the usual incandescents! Great value proposition ... IF you can adapt to the big changes. Has opaque silver paint around the bottom half, so casts hardly any light downwards (when mounted upwards, as these usually are). That can be a benefit when it is close to a light-colored ceiling, however, as it works more like an 'uplighter', reflecting more diffused light gently down.

Worst feature is the bold black printing on the silver bottom half. If you are unlucky with the thread, that will be facing the side everyone sees - makes it look butt-ugly in daytime!

Good color temperature - has a whiter/bluer/'cooler' light, looks close to full spectrum, not nearly as 'cold' as flourescent, Much brighter than the 25w incandescents - closer to 40w equivalent. Two have been reliable in regular use for a few months now.

Comments about MaxLite 25W Incandescent Equivalent, 20000 Hour, 4 Watt, 120 Volt Warm White DIMMABLE LED Decorative Bulb:

These bulbs were intended for fixtures in a library where there is a chandelier with glass "shades". However, the middle of the bulb was wider that a standard flame tip incandescent and so the cover would not fit back on. Not wanting to forgo cleaning without removing the bulb I utilized them in fixtures in bedrooms where the "shades" were not removable. Problem is after about 10 days one of the bulbs stopped working. Did all of the usual switching to make sure it was the bulb (it was) and bulbs.com replaced it. My concern is future failures (outside of the warranty) which for the price of this bulb would end up being very costly.
