A measure of "electrical pressure" between two points. The voltage specification of an incandescent lamp is the electrical "pressure" required to drive it at its designed point. The "voltage" of a ballast (e.g. 120 V) refers to the line voltage coming from the power source and is connected to the ballast.

The description of the general appearance of a lamp/bulb consists of a letter(s) followed by a number. The letter indicates the shape of the bulb and the number relates to the diameter of the bulb in eighths of an inch. For example, a common household bulb is the A-19. The bulb is "A" shape and the diameter would be nineteen 8ths of an inch, or 2 3/8".

Q & A

Bulbrite Brand 0.6  Watt lamp replaces many bi-pin halogen capsule lamps.

  • Perfect to use anywhere you are using a 12 volt capsule with G4 bi-pin base

  • No lead or mercury means easy and environmentally safe disposal

  • 30 Lumens initial light output is comparable to many lower wattage halogen capsules

  • VERY long life - rated to still put out 70% as much light after 35,000 hours of operation as it does when brand new

CHECK PRODUCT FIT BEFORE INVESTING IN MANY - Product May Not Fit in Your Fixture.  Also, NOT RECOMMENDED for use in enclosed fixtures because heat buildup can shorten life.  DO NOT "hot swap" this lamp.  Turn off fixture before replacing existing bulb.

Comments about 0.6 Watt, 12 Volt Warm White LED JC Bulb:

I tried to use this to replace the under cabinet lights for a client. You could barely tell that the lights where on. Very little light output. May work OK for a night light situation.

  • Q:

how does this bulb compare to a 50 watt 12 v halogen?

      A:

This product is not comparable to a 50W, 12V halogen. Most 50W low voltage halogens have a wider pin base than this LED. It is closer to a 5W or 10W halogen. The bulb will last much longer than a halogen but the light output will be reduced, significantly reduced when compared to a 50W bulb.
