Volts

A measure of "electrical pressure" between two points. The voltage specification of an incandescent lamp is the electrical "pressure" required to drive it at its designed point. The "voltage" of a ballast (e.g. 120 V) refers to the line voltage coming from the power source and is connected to the ballast.

Bulb Shape

The description of the general appearance of a lamp/bulb consists of a letter(s) followed by a number. The letter indicates the shape of the bulb and the number relates to the diameter of the bulb in eighths of an inch. For example, a common household bulb is the A-19. The bulb is "A" shape and the diameter would be nineteen 8ths of an inch, or 2 3/8".

CRI

Color Rendering Index is an international system used to rate a lamp's ability to render object colors. The higher the CRI (based upon a 0-100 scale) the richer and more accurately colors generally appear. CRI differences among lamps are not usually visible to the eye unless the difference is more than 3-5 points.

An expression of the hue of the light emitted, measured in degrees Kelvin. Usually expressed by a four digit number followed by (k), such as 2700k. Higher temperatures indicate whiter, "cooler" colors, while lower temperatures indicate yellower, "warmer" colors. Some common Kelvin temperature benchmarks are 2700k (warm white), 3500k (neutral white), 4100k (cool white), 5000k (bright white), and 6500k (daylight).

Q & A

Bulbrite Brand 0.7 Watt non-dimmable LED lamp replaces many wedge base halogen and xenon capsule lamps.

Due to the type of packaging this product has, once cut open it won't be able to be returned.

  • Perfect to use anywhere you are using a 12 volt capsule with wedge base

  • No lead or mercury means easy and environmentally safe disposal

  • 26 Lumens initial light output is comparable to many lower wattage halogen capsules

  • VERY long life - rated to still put out 70% as much light after 30,000 hours of operation as it does when brand new

CHECK PRODUCT FIT BEFORE INVESTING IN MANY - Product May Not Fit in Your Fixture.  Also, NOT RECOMMENDED for use in enclosed fixtures because heat buildup can shorten life.  DO NOT "hot swap" this lamp.  Turn off fixture before replacing existing bulb.

Comments about 0.7 Watt, 12 Volt NON-DIMMABLE LED Wedge Bulb:

I could not not keep incandescent bulbs alive in the 12 volt step light, I figure that the bulbs just got too hot and burned themselves out. I am hoping the LED's are the answer

        Best Uses

        • We use them in our RV

Comments about 0.7 Watt, 12 Volt NON-DIMMABLE LED Wedge Bulb:

We use this product in our RV to save on the energy used by the halogens as well as the heat produced by them. These bulbs are excellent for those purposes but it appears to me that they do not produce the light output we got from the halogens. Our fixture is fixed which means we can't change the orientation of the bulb so we can't try turning or tilting the bulb to see if it makes a difference. For us this is not a problem, we like the slightly dimmer light and we don't miss the glare at all.

        Best Uses

        • Under cabinet

Comments about 0.7 Watt, 12 Volt NON-DIMMABLE LED Wedge Bulb:

I used these bulbs to replace the original 25 watt bulbs that came with some under cabinet 12 volt puck style incandescent units. These are clearly not as bright as the original bulbs, but my estimate is that they are not less than 50% as bright. I wouldn't use them for reading if you're over 15 years old, but as low level under cabinet accent lights they work extremely well.

Comments about 0.7 Watt, 12 Volt NON-DIMMABLE LED Wedge Bulb:

The life span, and power usage for an RV will be excellent. The light output is a little lacking, but new models are being developed all the time.

              • CUSTOMER CARE

                A:

These bulbs are not listed for wet or damp location listings so depending on how well the fixture manages moisture and water would be the real question. If the fixture has a capping on it and is sealed from the elements it should be fine. However, if there is a level of moisture inside the fixture it's possible it could ruin the LED chip circuitry over time.
