Comments about Philips 25 Watt, 120 Volt Clear Halogen Decorative Bulb:

I switch from inexpensive common "flame tip" bulbs in my porch lights to this halogen light because the halogen is supposed to have a long life. Although they give out a lot of light at a low wattage they are much more expensive and don't seem to last anywhere near the rated life. They are also very hot when on causing deterioration of the light sockets in the fixture. I'll probably go back to a more conventional bulb once I've used up what I've got.

Do these bulbs work in a fixture where they are inverted? I bought incandescent krypton flame tip bulbs and they do not work if placed upside down.
