Comments about TCP 60 Watt Incandescent Equivalent, 13 Watt, 120 Volt Yellow Spiral CFL Bug Bulb:

We leave lamps burning all night next to every entrance to the house, so it is important to us to have something which is bright enough to see to enter and deter intruders, but not be glaring at the neighbors who are trying to sleep. These lamps are not easy to get to, so we are glad to have long lasting bulbs. The yellow color does not attract bugs, which keeps the lamps cleaner and the entrances more appealing, and at the same time appears similar to the color of a flame in an old fashioned lamp.

    • Q:

I wanted to know if this zaps and kills bugs or are they just not attracted to it like a regular bulb will?

        A:

This bulb is not made for insect traps. This bulb is primarily used in standard outdoor fixtures (must be in a protected fixture) and the yellow light the bulb emits does not attract insects like a standard light bulb does.
