Comments about Bulbrite 25 Watt, 120 Volt Clear Krypton Blunt Tip Decorative Bulb:

I have been using the Krypton bulbs for years now, they are a great long life bulb and put out more light than similar wattage standard incandescent bulbs. This particular 25 Watt bulb is now in all of my outdoor fixtures where I would have previously used a 40 Watt incandescent. The 25 Watt Krypton is only slightly dimmer than a 40Watt incandescent and my outdoor fixtures are paired (two near each door) so there is plenty of light with less energy usage than with standard incandescents. The whiter light is fine for outdoors and not as ugly as fluorescent light in my opinion. I think the house looks much nicer with Krypton or incandescents than with fluorescents on the outside. I also use Krypton bulbs in the garage (60Watt) and sometimes use 40Watt Krypton bulbs where I would previously have used a 60Watt incandescent indoors, like hallways and stairwells. I do avoid using Krypton bulbs in bathrooms and living areas because in those areas I prefer the warmer light of a standard incandescent. They are a little more costly than standard bulbs but they last a long time, I started buying these two years ago for fixtures that get daily use and have not had any burn out yet. The outdoor fixtures that this recent purchase is for are on dusk to dawn sensors so the hours of usage will add up quickly. In the right places these bulbs are perfect!
